My guess is the slide lightening cuts alone take off 2-3 oz. The milled option will place the dot lower to the bore axis, which makes for a more natural presentation. This is not a big deal, in the grand scheme of things. There's also no rules saying you have to choose right now. If you're on the fence, slap in a dovetail and shoot it like that for a few months to be sure.

I actually ended up finding an optics ready version of the Shadow 2, and in the hayday of the covidness I was able to sell the original Shadow 2 (non-optics ready) for what I paid. The difference came out to $100-ish, and I preferred a factory cut! If the platform you're using can be purchased optics ready, I recommend it!
