The BFF tree will have your Deathtrap doing the same or just keeping him around longer. Theres skills to keep Gaige at full HP, tips and tricks and optional tweaks to make this your own build if you like.
A barrel 3 fibber (redundant, if you can get it) is damn near compulsory for any Gaige build and the twister works great too. Trick Shot Maggie is my go-to gun for Gaige. The bullets ricochet naturally, and with close enough they have a 50% chance to aim towards an enemy. I just rapid fire in the general direction of enemies and everything dies very quickly. I can't believe nobody has pointed out the ricochet fibber.

The 2nd build is definitely better but I'd take some points from the blue tree and finish getting 5/5 into 20% Cooler and 10/5 in Typecast Iconoclast or whatever the skill is called. none of them.
